Timeworks Theatre
Timeworks creates theatre inspired by time.
All of our productions link the past to the present. Our work celebrates anniversaries of all kinds, of historical events, of works of literature, of births and deaths, of places, inventions, objects and discoveries.
Time knows no bounds!
At Timeworks we produce a diverse range of theatre, including comedy, drama, children's productions, horror... Some of our work is especially written, but we also revive and adapt existing works, and we perform our "timepieces" in diverse locations across the North East of England.
Artistic Director - Sarah Seymour
I've been lucky enough to work with some very talented North East theatre companies and directors over the years. Because of them, I felt compelled to start my own adventure. And so, Timeworks was born!
As a theatre maker, I believe strongly in theatre that connects with people on a real level. Through Timeworks and its focus on stories connected to the past, I’m able to create work that has a strong grounding in reality, whilst still allowing for a great deal of creativity and imagination in its realisation.

Writer - John Seymour
I am a writer based in the North East of England, working in prose and script-writing, but especially in scripts for the stage.
My writing for the stage has been performed across the UK and abroad, and encompasses many styles and topics. My work with Timeworks, though, is unique in that it requires me to write both original pieces based upon specific given themes and new adaptations of existing works by other authors. I find this a stimulating challenge, and always thoroughly enjoy it.
I am also a teacher of creative writing and a mentor to other writers. To find out more about my services to writers, please check out my website at www.write-now.org.uk
